Big Momma’s House ( 2000 ) is a comedy starring Martin Lawrence . The film was directed by Raja Gosnell who has directed several other films including the live-action Scooby-Doo along with its sequel and Never Been Kissed . In addition to Lawrence, the recurring cast includes Nia Long , Paul Giamatti , Terrence Howard , Anthony Anderson , Ella Mitchell and Jascha Washington .
